Over the last month there are many changes we’ve had to put in place at Circle Waste to ensure we can carry on our efforts in helping to keep the country clean and running smoothly through this global pandemic. We sat down on FaceTime with our Sales and Customer Service Manager Luke Pasiful and talked about how things inside the office has changed during this lockdown period. Here is what he had to say.
Firstly how are you today? We are a month and a bit into UK lockdown, how have you handled it so far?
“I am good thanks! I am just trying to keep as positive as I can and keep myself in a routine. I think routine is very important especially in these times as it helps keep you focused which can only benefit you!”
As the weeks went on what sort of challenges has Circle Waste come across?
“The challenges we have faced are all positive. We are fortunate to work in an industry where the demand for our services has increased, so as a team we have worked together to make it work as best as we can. One of the challenges we have faced is that some of our suppliers have had to close but we have managed to continue to service our customers through our great supply chain…I suppose I can use this as a great opportunity to thank them!”
How are the staff responding to the strange working condition, are there certain things you’ve been doing to keep the morale and culture thriving?
“I would say everyone has responded well. We have a great team and family spirit at Circle and that has helped hugely. We have been running competitions to help with motivation and morale…everyone loves winning a prize! We’ve also had a little thing running where each morning we post a motivational song on our group chat to lift people’s spirits then nominate a new person for the following day…there have been some interesting choices!”
What does the future look like for Circle Waste? Any new starters?
“The future is bright…considering the circumstances we have continued to grow as a business which we are very grateful for! We have recently taken on two new Team Members to assist with our growth and are continuing to take a few more on. It’s all very positive and we are really excited to see how we perform once everything is back to normal.”
The fact you have a team of people wishing they were in the office is a testament to the atmosphere you have created – how do you think the team should celebrate when they are all finally back in the office?
“I would say it’s an atmosphere we have all created. Each and every team member plays a part in the atmosphere… It’s just about having the right people which we certainly do. Well food is a huge thing in our office so I would imagine we will be indulging a lot when we are all back in and arranging a decent night out with everyone!”
